BRUCE'S POLICY
Honesty
Absolutely no lies, shadings or otherwise misleading statements will be found in
any of my writings about my case, on FreeBruce.org or elsewhere. Uncompromising
honesty is the only path to credibility, and credibility is the unavoidable
result of an uncompromising commitment to the truth. This is the tenet behind
every word I have written about this case.
Attitude
I do my best not to carry hatred in my heart for anyone. This includes the lying
LAPD detective, Andrew R. Monsue, the manipulative and dishonest jail snitch,
Robert Donald Hughes, and the likely killer, John "Mike" 'Ryan, Jr. Shakespeare
wrote, "Corruption wins not more than honesty. Still in thy right hand carry
gentle peace, to silence envious tongues; be just, and fear not." (Henry VIII,
III.ii.441) Those are noble, hopeful words which I strive to achieve in my own
actions.
The Police
I am in no wise anti-police, nor anti-LAPD, and I am not a nihilist. I don't
even want to have to make these grave allegations. I've been forced into it, and
any embarrassment or shame caused by this is the fault of detective,Monsue and
his collaborators; not me. Neither do I aim to indict the entire institution for
the acts of the few.
Rather, the corruption can be circumscribed with a line, tightly encompassing
Monsue and those few who aligned themselves in his support and defense at the
peril of justice, truth and oath in this case. Yet even at the risk of hurt
feelings, and in the face of significant potential risk to my own safety, I will
never fall silent on my false conviction. No rational person could possibly
suggest that I should.
The Jail House Snitch
If my case argues for anything, it is that these jail house vipers should never
be allowed to slip the bars of justice and deliver their dubious testimony, born
of questionable motive, into the sanctity of our courtrooms. Snitches will lie
shamelessly for the slightest benefit, and have done so for millennia. To remain
in denial of this fact is both naive and dangerous.
Yet, if the practice is to be allowed to continue -- and it will, since
prosecutors benefit from it -- then we should make it just as illegal for jail
snitches to be paid for their testimony as it is for any other witness to be
paid. Purchased words are inherently blighted, particularly those of scoundrels.
But if the concept of true justice still appeals at all to our collective
morality, then this vile practice of using jail snitches in criminal
prosecutions must be banned outright. To turn a blind eye to the problem is to
condemn many more 17-year olds to the same disaster which has befallen my life.
Innocent Bystanders
I apologize to the family members and loved ones of those I've exposed in this
writing for any embarrassment I might cause them. It is through no fault of
their own that they find themselves linked with the characters who perpetrated
such evil.
In Closing
My continuing prayer is that peace and truth will one day defeat the anguish and lies which have reigned for so long. It is to these ends that the PreeBruce.org web site is dedicated.
